Tractors & Machinery

The museum has a range of tractors mostly dating from the 1940s and 50s. They are kept in working order and are used for tasks around the museum grounds and attend vintage rallies.

There are a number of oil engines ranging from small “barn engines” used around the farm to a large industrial Ruston 6HXR weighing 5 tons from a local engineering works.

Steam is represented by two Merryweather portable steam pumps.  These were commonly used by the military for emergency water supply in remote areas (they were designed to be carried by troops where necessary) and for airfield use in the second world war.
