North Ings Farm Railway

The 2ft gauge railway was first installed in 1971 to serve the chicken farm, handling feed, eggs and waste from cleaning of the sheds. Although the poultry business closed in 1981, the original locomotive and wagons are still used around the farm, and have been joined by six other industrial diesel locomotives, and a steam tram engine.  The line has been extended over the years and now forms a circuit of 1/3 mile.

A passenger train provides visitors with a trip on the railway, and includes a coach with facilities for the disabled.

Rolling stock consists mainly of industrial skip wagons, though many have been converted for other purposes such as flat wagons, ballast and rail carriers.

North Ings Farm also plays host to "Penelope", an ex-army Motor Rail, and "Indian Runner" a Ruston 33/40HP, both on loan from the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Trust.  Further information on the Trust can be found on their web site.
